Who are Winnie & Olive?

Winnie and Olive were my Great Nan’s. They were both an inspiration for different reasons. Winnie was creative and was an expert in needlework and knitting. She mended and made. She was kind and gentle and love the sweet peas Grandpa Wilf grew for her. Olive was an expert business woman. A pioneer in customer service. Smart and very funny. She loved to cook and her door was always unlocked for people to walk in and be fed.

When my beloved Nan died in 2019 I realised what she had taught me was so valuable and important. All the stories she told about the past meant so much. She inspired me to open my little shop and call upon all that learning. My heritage. I love to paint and have found my niche in painting unwanted furniture. I care about this planet we live on and learn every day how I can be kinder to it. I love hearing my customers stories and also what they think of my shop and the products I sell. I am shaping my little business based on what my customers tell me and ask for. I am loving every minute and learning all the time. I wished my Nan was here to see this but she inspires me every day.
